Gli Antifonari Landriani per la cattedrale di Lodi

2021 - L'Erma di Bretschneider

P. 109-130

  • The Landrian Antiphonaries for the Cathedral of LodiThe article is centered on a group of three Antiphonaries made from 1419 to 1423 for the Cathedral of Lodi and now preserved in the Diocesan Historical Archives. With the studies of Anna Melograni, Mario Marubbi and Milvia Bollati, the figure of the anonymous illuminator and his activity has been partially reconstructed, highlighting the close ties with the Master of the Book of Hours of Modena and the early Milanese culture of the XV century. The discovery of the first volume, entitled Sindacatus pro annis 1413-26 quae supersunt (Lodi, Diocesan Historical Archives), a collation of sheets due to the Lodi canon Luigi Salamina in 1942, led to the discovery of a series of payments to the famous copyist Fazio de Castoldi. Finally, the collecting events that led to the dispersion of the first series of illuminated manuscripts are pieced together. [Publisher's text]
