Security in maritime transport is linked to the quality level of transport infrastructures, to ships conditions, to control systems, and to the quality of human capital involved. The Author analyses the economic framework and presents results of an empirical analysis to illustrate the incidence of infrastructural investments level, of workers, and of goods and passengers traffic on the security of some ports located in the Adriatic-Ionic area.
