Il Platone di Sciacca
P. 316-326
This essay focuses on Sciacca's contributions dedicated to Plato. Sciacca's interest in Plato has never been historical or philological, but primarily philosophical. He had planned three volumes on Plato, dedicated to cosmology, psychology and theology. Only the first was actually written. Sciacca's interpretation of Plato's Timaeus (the cosmological dialogue) is focused on the figure of the demiurge and can be considered theological and metaphysical in nature. It is very important to think about the fact that according to Sciacca, the figure of the demiurge preserves Plato's metaphysics from the threats of immanentism and pantheism [Publisher's Text].
