Mi sono divagato in ricerche d'archivio e di biblioteca
P. 33-47
Leonardo Sciascia often consulted libraries and archives - in Sicily, otherregions or abroad - to read up on events that inspired or were linked to hisnovels and, in a wider perspective, on historical periods, places and territoriesfrom the 16th century to his era. In addition to undertaking intensive periods of research himself, of which he knew the highs and lows, he also asked for the help of friends and experts, and was sent copies from several archival institutes. At times, it was his friends, rather than readings, who sparked his interest in specific research. This paper was presented at the 12th Leonardo Sciascia Colloquium held in Rome on the 7th and 8th of October 2021. [Publisher's text]
