Sciascia et Foucault au prisme de Raymond Roussel

  • Among the French intellectuals of the second half of the 20th century who aroused Sciascia's interest, it is not surprising to find Michel Foucault. Critics have drawn parallels between the two writers based on the way that the question of truth and power sits at the heart of both writers' work. However, if we take a closer look at their respective positions on these issues, the differences are striking. The main aim of this essay is to investigate these differences starting from the analysis that the two intellectuals give of Raymond Roussel and in particular of his death, in which, as in a prism, the divergences between the thought of Sciascia and that of Foucault come to be reflected.   • Tra gli intellettuali francesi della seconda metà del Novecento che hanno suscitato l'attenzione di Sciascia non è sorprendente trovare Michel Foucault. La critica ha messo l'accento su una vicinanza tra i due autori sulla base della centralità che occupa nell'opera di entrambi la questione della verità e del potere. Tuttavia, a uno sguardo ravvicinato delle rispettive posizioni assunte sull'argomento, emergono significative differenze. Lo scopo principale di questo saggio è di indagare su tali differenze a partire dall'analisi che i due intellettuali fanno di Raymond Roussel e in special modo della sua morte, in cui, come un prisma, si riflettono le divergenze tra il pensiero di Sciascia e quello di Foucault.
