- The article focused on selected passages of Boccaccio's Trattatello in laude di Dante and his Esposizioni sopra la Comedia, which show that he had a considerable knowledge of astronomy. Consequentelly, Boccaccio's assertion in his Trattatello that Dante was created as a poet by the planets is not intended to be merely metaphorical. This interpretation of Dante's vocation, moreover, is supported by Paradiso 8.97-148. [Publisher's text].
- Il presente lavoro si concentra su alcuni passi del Trattatello in laude di Dante e sulle Esposizioni sopra la Comedia di Giovanni Boccaccio, che dimostrano quanto l'autore fosse in possesso di solide conoscenze astronomiche. Il ritratto letterario di Dante valente poeta concepito come artista "causato" dalle stelle che Boccaccio fa nel suo Trattello non ha, quindi, soltanto, un valore metaforico e trova conferma nel noto passo di Paradiso 8.9-148.
