Setting : tra conflitto e confine

  • La prossimità intersoggettiva ha le sue condizioni accomunanti, ma il setting che si crea, tra approssimazione, violazione, margine, posizione, porosità, può dar vita a processi emancipativi o distruttivi a seconda di come è gestito e vissuto il gioco tra conflitto e confine. Anche nel setting clinico, sia di coppia che di gruppo, il confine evoca di per sé il suo superamento. Quel superamento richiama a sua volta il conflitto. Le differenze che si approssimano e si incontrano sono di fatto la base di quella particolare tessitura che possiamo chiamare setting. Si abita ogni setting percorrendo regioni di frontiera dove si osserva la tipica tensione di ogni approssimazione. Il conflitto tra l'insofferenza dei confini vissuti come gabbia, il vitale desiderio del superamento di quei confini, e allo stesso tempo il bisogno di contenimento di cui comunque non si riesce a fare a meno, disegnano la contingenza di ogni relazione.   • Conflict and border in the dynamics of the setting. Intersubjective proximity has its common conditions, but the setting that is created, between approximation, violation, margin, position, porosity, can give rise to emancipatory or destructive processes depending on how the game between conflict and border is managed and lived. Even in the clinical setting, both in couples and in groups, the border itself evokes its overcoming. That overcoming in turn recalls the conflict. The differences that approach and meet are in fact the basis of that particular texture that we can call a setting. Each setting is inhabited by crossing border regions where the typical tension of each approximation is observed. The conflict between the intolerance of borders experienced as a cage, the vital desire to overcome those borders, and at the same time the need for containment which, however, one cannot do without, draw the contingency of every relationship.
