  • L'articolo presenta la new town di Zhengdong, progettata nel 2001 come addizione di Zhengzhou, capitale dell'Henan: un milione di nuovi abitanti, oltre 150 kmq di nuovo spazio edificato, un nuovo Central Business District e, soprattutto, la nuova stazione dell'alta velocità. Zhengdong è infatti parte del rafforzamento del sistema infrastrutturale della Cina interna. Benché Zhengdong sia oggi, in gran parte, ancora non abitata, l'estensione continua: Zhengbian, progettata tra il 2006 e il 2009, coprirà circa 300 kmq di superficie, aggregando molte piccole e grandi città. Studiare Zhengdong richiede di interrogarsi sul potenziamento di un'area ritenuta cruciale per il Rise of Central China Plan e per fare dello Zhongyuan una delle più ricche e vaste conurbazioni del paese.   • The article presents the new town of Zhengdong, designed in 2001 as the addition of the Henan's capital Zhengzhou: one million of new inhabitants, over 150 km2 of new built space, a new Central Business District and, above all, a new high speed railway station. Zhengdong is part of the empowering of the infrastructure system in inland China. Although today Zhengdong is for its major past still not inhabited, the urban expansion does not stop: Zhengbian, designed between 2006 and 2009, will extend on about 300 km2, aggregating many other small and large cities. Exploring Zhengdong is an inquiry on the strengthening of the inland China and on the role of the Rise of Central China Plan in promoting Zhongyuan as one of the richest and largest Chinese conurbations.
