Towards a Semantic Web : a comparison between RDA and REICAT descriptive solutions

- Il saggio propone, usando le 9 aree individuate da ISBD come guida, un confronto tra le scelte descrittive portate avanti dagli estensori di RDA e di REICAT. Attraverso un'analisi dettagliata delle singole scelte vengono a delinearsi due differenti modi di intendere le entità basilari della descrizione catalografica e di conseguenza due diverse prospettive per la futura organizzazione delle risorse. Le REICAT appaiono ancora legate all'organizzazione "a scheda", alla punteggiatura uniforme e al concetto di catalogo, mentre con RDA si delinea una struttura nuova, progettata per la piena circolazione dei dati attraverso una piattaforma semantica.
