Alberto Tarchiani e il rilancio della politica estera della "Nuova Italia" (1947-1952)
50-74 p.
The article traces the full maturity of Alberto Tarchiani's long diplomatic career in the United States, focusing on the period between the reactions to the announcement of the Marshall Plan in 1947 and the success of De Gasperi's second trip to the United States in 1951. During this period, Tarchiani made significant contributions to the complex negotiations for accession to the Atlantic Treaty, to relations during the 1948 elections, to the reversal of Italian colonial policy, to the thorny question of Trieste, to the negotiations for the EDC, and to the preparations for De Gasperi's second visit to the United States.
