"Ciò che occorre a Cortina per diventare città olimpica" : la legacy infrastrutturale dei VII Giochi olimpici invernali : un treno perso?

2026 - Franco Angeli

34-53 p.

When a city is awarded the status of Olympic host, one of the expected benefitsis the catalytic effect on urban and transport-related projects. The underlyingassumption is that organizing the Games can accelerate urban agendas and planninginitiatives. In practice, however, the transport sector is often among the leastadvantaged by the Olympic legacy. This contribution examines the gap betweenexpectations and actual legacy outcomes in the field of logistics and transportation, focusing on the case of Cortina 1956. This case presents several noteworthy specificities, including, most notably, the railway issue linked to proposed upgrades of theDolomites Railway in anticipation of the Olympic events.
