Piccole isole e territori di montagna Sostenibilità e relazioni interspecie nell'Antropocene
73-94 p.
The debate on the Anthropocene, the era in which humans have become agents of atmospheric and climatic impact, has highlighted the interconnections that bind us to other forms of living beings. Building on reflections about environmental sustainability and our species impact, we present here two case studies emblematic of the Anthropocene and the environmental crisis, where human–nonhuman relations permeate the social life of communities: the Cape Verdean archipelago, and the Mont Blanc area. Both small islands and mountain regions, despite having no direct responsibility for climate change, are at the forefront of its disastrous consequences. Through the lenses of cultural anthropology, this contribution explores the relations between 'domestic' and 'wild' that connect ecosystems, animals, and humans. [Publisher's text]
