Lavoro e apprendimento trasformativo in carcere

2020 - Franco Angeli

5-36 p.

  • The study focuses on work that is being carried out by inmates having different ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Penitentiary work is considered in relation to its potentiality to produce new meaning perspectives that remove assumptions that founded the decision to commit serious crimes. The present paper analyses how work experiences carried out in prison can be managed as learning experience. Furthermore we investigate on learning actions that can be designed and implemented by the whole set of penitentiary staff playing an educational role towards inmates (from security staff to surveillance judges).
  • The aim is to understand how prison work can contribute to reduce and prevent radicalisation risk for inmates from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds and how to use it for these purposes. Work experiences are being carried out within and outside the prison settings. They are analysed in the transitions they are made of and critical steps that can contribute to determine and accompany the transformative process of perspective meanings as well as the learning of rules and ethical principles that can lead - where feasible - to the acquisition of new rules that are fundamental for living together in order to have them guiding future behaviour.
