  • Oggetto di questo studio è il perfezionamento in Germania del filosofo pavese Carlo Cantoni (1840-1906). Sulla base della recente scoperta di un manoscritto cantoniano contenente dettati delle lezioni di Rudolf Hermann Lotze seguite a Gottinga nel semestre invernale 1865-1866, procederò alla ricostruzione delle vicende storiche relative al suo soggiorno tedesco e quindi all'analisi del significato di tale periodo per la sua formazione filosofica, concentrandomi sulla sua produzione fra la fine degli anni Sessanta e l'inizio degli anni Settanta dell'Ottocento, ma gettando luce anche sullo sviluppo successivo del suo pensiero.   • This paper focuses on the German formation of the philosopher Carlo Cantoni (1840-1906). Following on the discovery of a manuscript by Cantoni containing the notes of the lectures held by Rudolf Hermann Lotze in Göttingen during the winter term 1865-1866, I will first reconstruct the historical context of Cantoni's German staying. I will then analyse the significance of this period for his philosophical training; I will consider in particular Cantoni's production between the end of the 60s and the beginning of the 70s of XIX century, also casting light on the further development of his thought.
