Freud, la pulsione aggressiva e la legge

  • Viene discussa la concezione freudiana della legge come messa in atto di violenza collettiva su un individuo che la infrange. Vengono esaminate le implicazioni del legame tra il Super-Io (come fonte del giudizio morale) e la pulsione aggressiva, e suggerito che occorre fare sempre attenzione al pericolo che la legge venga usata come modalità mascherata per trarre piacere dalla violenza collettiva. Viene discussa anche la concezione freudiana della responsabilità personale secondo la quale noi siamo responsabili di tutto il nostro comportamento, anche se ha una motivazione inconscia (come negli atti mancati e nei sogni). Però il tipo di responsabilità cui si riferiva Freud non è la responsabilità morale di colpevolezza o innocenza, ma la responsabilità nel senso che tutto il nostro comportamento, in modo consapevole o meno, riflette i nostri desideri e le nostre motivazioni.   • The paper discusses Freud's view of the law as the implementation of collective violence on the individual violator. The focus is on the implications of the link between the superego (as the source of moral judgment) and the aggressive drive, and it is suggested that we need to be ever vigilant regarding the danger of employing the law as a disguised means of taking pleasure in collective violence. The paper also discusses Freud's conception of personal responsibility, according to which we are responsible for all our behavior, including unconsciously motivated behavior (such as slips and dreams). However, the kind of responsibility Freud has in mind is not the moral responsibility of blameworthiness or praiseworthiness, but rather responsibility in the sense that, whether or not acknowledged, all our behavior reflects our personal desires and motives.
