Tra magia e qabbalah : per una nuova lettura delle tesi orfiche di Pico della Mirandola
P. 27-51
The renewal of Orphic wisdom has marked the philosophy of the second half of the fifteenth century, particularly in the Florence of Lorenzo de' Medici. Pico della Mirandola was one of the most original interpreters of this Orphic trend. The aim of this contribution is to show how, for Pico, Orphism - which he integrated into the noble magical tradition - played a key role in connecting Jewish mysticism and the Greek magical-philosophical thought, making it one of the pillars of the vast project of universal harmony that he dreamed of. This analysis will be carried out through a commentary on the theses dedicated by Pico to the Orphic Hymns in his 900 Conclusiones [Publisher's text].
