I mondi indigeni nella modernità di José Martì : problematica e critica
290-315 p.
- This article explores the question of indian mistreatment and assimilation in José Marti's writings from Mexico to USA. The author points out the similarity between Marti's arguments and those held by the latin american liberalism and, then, by the "Friends of indians". The author supposes a simultaneous presence of indigenous distinct worlds which refers to a different historical moments in America. Marti redeems simbolically the pre-columbian indigenous culture as a model of civilization and, at the same time, complaints degradation of natives in a current society. [Publisher's text].
