Pensare psicoanaliticamente, pensare meglio : riflessioni sul transgender

  • Viene sfatato il mito secondo cui il genere (gender) sarebbe un concetto non psicoanalitico imposto agli psicoanalisti da altre discipline (ad esempio dalla sociologia) e/o da attivisti, e sostenuto che vada sdrammatizzato il discorso sul transgender in modo che possiamo lavorare e pensare collettivamente sui gender complessi e sulle loro varie incarnazioni. Ciò implica che si riesca a identificare il motivo per cui la categoria della incarnazione transgender ha prodotto una tale crisi nel nostro campo cercare cioè le fonti di questa crisi internamente piuttosto che esternamente. Questa crisi è sorta in parte perché il tema del trans ha confrontato gli analisti con i limiti delle teorie consolidate sul corpo, sulla categoria dell'azione e, in alcune scuole psicoanalitiche, sul duraturo primato della fantasia filogenetica. Gli psicoanalisti vengono esortati a impegnarsi in questa crisi in modo produttivo ripensando, cioè pensando meglio, il tema del transgender. [Testo dell'editore].
  • This article dispels the myth that gender is a nonpsychoanalytic concept imposed on psychoanalysts by other disciplines (e.g., sociology) and/or activists, and argues for dedramatizing the discourse around transgender so that we may work and think collectively about complex genders and their varied embodiments. Such thinking would involve identifying why the category of trans embodiment has produced such a crisis in our field – to look, that is, internally rather than externally for the sources of this crisis. It is proposed that this crisis has, in part, arisen because transgender has confronted analysts with the limitations of our established theories about the body, the category of action, and, in some schools of analytic thinking, about the enduring primacy of phylogenetic fantasy. Psychoanalysts are urged to engage this crisis productively by rethinking, that is, by thinking better, this topic. [Publisher's text].
