Freedom is determined by accepting the event that is a manifestation of being; it reaches the root of our existence and becomes word. Jewish tradition holds that the activities of a high diakonia take place through prophetic word; the prophet is at the service of Word; in the visible, he deciphers those criteria of sense which guide the intelligence of men and orientate our choices. The Prophetic Word establishes a link of great depth to the heart, which is the very root of intelligence. In the heart – as Franz Rosenzweig suggests – that "infinite yes" is pronounced, the one which opens up the authentic noein, a "consciously participating thought". [Publisher's text]
