"Associatevi e sarete liberi" : statuti di Mutuo Soccorso nell'Europa mediterranea (1848-­1864)

Il presente lavoro analizza la struttura delle Società di mutuo soccorso operanti in Europa mediterranea tra il 1848 e il 1864. A partire dalla comparazione tra diversi statutisocietari elaborati in Francia, Genova e nelle principali città dell'Andalusia nel periodocompreso tra la fine dell'esperienza rivoluzionaria del biennio 1848-1849 e la fondazione dell'Associazione internazionale dei lavoratori, questo studio si pone l'obiettivo di dimostrare l'esistenza di un unico modello associativo elaborato in contesto repubblicano. L'esperienza societaria mediterranea, ispirata dagli stessi valori democratici,elaborò simili strutture organizzative articolate nell'assemblea generale e nella cassa mutua. L'atto societario non si limitava tuttavia a definire i diritti e i doveri degli associati, ma individuava nella missione educativa e moralizzatrice l'obiettivo primario delmutuo soccorso repubblicano. This article analyses the structure of mutual aid societies operating in Mediterranean Europe between 1848 and 1865. Comparing the features of several trade union's statutes elaborated in France, Genoa, and the major cities of Andalusia during the decade that followed the European midcentury revolutions and ended with the foundation of the International Workingmen's Association, this paper attempts to demonstrate the existence of a unique republican association model built around the same democratic values and the existence of similarity extends to organizational aspects, such as the general assembly and the mutual fund. Statutes were not limited to defining the members rights and duties but tendeed to make in the educational and moralization mission the primary aim of republican mutual aid. [Publisher's Text].
