Analisi di un processo di stigmatizzazione. Uno studio di comunità a Nuova Ostia

Nel dibattito sulla questione urbana, una categoria analitica ormai consolidata (Mudan Marelli, 2020) è quella della stigmatizzazione territoriale (Wacquant, 2008). La presente analisi approfondisce mediante uno studio di comunità il caso del quartiere di Nuova Ostia (Roma). Caratterizzato dagli elementi infrastrutturali, urbanistici e socioeconomici che secondo gli studi sono tradizionalmente alla base della creazione di stigma (Schultz Larsen, Delica, 2019), al tempo stesso rappresenta un esempio interessante. L'esito di processi combinati di blaming, legati alla presenza criminale, segregazione spaziale, esclusione sociale, approcci istituzionali securitari hanno prodotto effetti molto concreti sulla comunità. In the debate on the urban issue, an established analytical category (Mudan Marelli, 2020) is that of territorial stigmatisation (Wacquant, 2008). The present analysis explores the case of the Nuova Ostia neighbourhood (Rome) through a community study. Characterised by the elements infrastructural, urbanistic and socio-economic that according to studies are traditionally at the base of stigma creation (Schultz Larsen, Delica, 2019), at the same time it represents an interesting example. The outcome of combined processes of blaming, linked to criminal presence, spatial segregation, social exclusion, and institutional securitarian approaches have produced very concrete effects on the community.
