This essay aims to emphasize two typical aspects of Vico's philosophy: its aesthetic and political sides. It is possible to trace an aesthetic dimension in Vico's thought with a new perspective by abandoning the pure contemplation of beauty and, in its place, by adopting the point of view of the body as the source of sensations meant as the heart of an aesthetic identity. From this new viewpoint, the aesthetic side is inevitably linked to men's needs and, consequently, to ethical and political contents. [Publisher's text].
