C'è giustizia sociale in Europa? : il modello sociale europeo tra politica economica e politiche sociali

  • Il presente saggio ha lo scopo di riflettere sulla possibilità di delineare un "modello sociale europeo" a partire dalla considerazione per cui la giustizia sociale è stata pensata nell'Unione come 'prodotto' della tutela delle libertà economiche. La 'minorità' dei diritti sociali nell'Agenda europea è stata ribadita dalle misure di austerity assunte dalle istituzioni europee durante la crisi economico-finanziaria del 2008. Di recente, con la proclamazione dei diritti sociali contenuti nel PEDS, si sta tentando di colmare questo gap, andando verso il co-iddetto "disgelo sociale" dell'Unione.   • The paper reflects on the possibility of outlining a "European social model" beginning from the consideration that social justice has been conceived, in the Union, as a "product" of the protection of economic freedoms. The social rights 'minority' in the European Agenda has been re-affirmed by the austerity measures taken by the European institutions during the financial and economic crisis, in 2008. Recently, with the proclamation of social rights contained in the European Social Pillar (ESP), it's going on an attempt to fill this gap, moving towards the so-called Union's "social thaw". In the essay, the ESP will be examined with regard to the possible resources that can be used to implement the principles/rights contained therein. [Publisher's text].
