Un genere narrativo, prima che letterario, che richiede - contro ogni pressapochismo - la disponibilità degli aspiranti autobiografi a discutere il proprio passato e il presente. Ne consegue, che la redazione di un'autobiografia (di un testo non frammentario ed episodico, né diaristico) richiede un serio e lungo lavoro autoriflessivo e autocritico, oltre a confronto morale con la dimensione del tempo vissuto. Nell'accettazione, inoltre, che la scrittura della nostra vita smentisca l'illusione che si tratti di un'impresa facile e funzionale a scopi narcisistici.   • This contribution highlights the complexity of writing an one's own story. A narrative genre, before to be a literary one, which requires - against any roughly forms - the willingness of the aspiring autobiographers to discuss their past and present. It follows that the writing of an autobiography (of a non-fragmentary and episodic, or diaristic text) requires a serious and long self-reflexive and self-critical work, beyond the moral confrontation with the dimension of the lived time. Accepting, moreover, that the writing of our life denies the illusion that it is an easy and functional enterprise for narcissistic purposes same as many experiences in the field of adult education would seem to promise.
