  • Nell'Italia degli anni Quaranta e Cinquanta il profugato postbellico e la decolonizzazione si sovrapposero nella figura degli ex coloni ora rimpatriati. La storiografia ha poco considerato questa categoria, sottovalutandone la capacità di proporre attivamente determinate istanze, e la diversità di accenti politici presenti al suo interno. Questo contributo, basato su fonti inedite quali documenti d'archivio e periodici, prende in esame le associazioni costituite dai profughi d'Africa, le persone che ne erano alla guida, i loro referenti politici e le diverse strategie che i sodalizi di ex coloni adottarono per interagire con le istituzioni.   • During the 1940s and 1950s in Italy, the problems of postwar refugees and decolonization overlapped, and were embodied in the figures of repatriated former settlers. Historians have largely overlooked their importance, underestimating both their ability to forward demands and the diversity of their political orientations. Based on unpublished sources such as archival documents and journals, this article examines the associations created by the former settlers, the people who led them, their political referents, and the different strategies these associations adopted to interact with the country's institutions.
