Un nuovo decanummo giustinianeo con numerale greco per la zecca di Roma

L'articolo riguarda una serie monetaria da 10 nummi di Giustiniano che, su basi stilistiche, può essere attribuita alla zecca di Roma. Questa, con il segno di valore espresso in greco, è solitamente considerata appartenente alla zecca di Salona, ma il modo in cui è delineato il dritto è più simile alle monete da 10 nummi con X e da 5 nummi con V emesse dallo stesso Giustiniano, le quali, grazie al quadro distributivo dei ritrovamenti, possono essere attribuite senza dubbio alla fabbrica monetaria di Roma. Si tratta quindi di un ulteriore arricchimento delle nostre conoscenze sulla produzione monetaria della zecca romana nel primo periodo bizantino. [Testo dell'editore]

The article focuses on a 10-nummi series of Justinian which, on stylistic grounds, can be attributed to the mint of Rome. The series, with the value in Greek, is usually considered to belong to the series of the same type and value from the Salona mint, but the way the obverse is outlined is more similar to the coins of the 10-nummi with X and 5-nummi with V issued by Justinian himself, which, thanks to the framework of the finds, can be attributed without more doubt to Rome. It is therefore a further enrichment of our knowledge of the monetary production of the Roman mint in the early Byzantine period. [Publisher's text]
