Il peso della vetta Riflessioni educative sui sensi del cadere
33-43 p.
Anxiety about achievement and dissatisfaction contribute to developing the widespread discontent among contemporary youth. Within this interiority, a logic of the need for continuous performance manifests, leading the individual to imagine themselves as part of a never-ending'climb'. The culture of performance obscures the possibility of opening the connection between expectations and existential meaning. This phenomenon leads to an absolutist perception of failure, conceived as a total trauma. Through a hermeneutic lens and with reference to a school experience, guided by the metaphors of Ngũgĩ wa Thiong'o, the contents of this essay aim to reconsider failure as a critical space for understanding vulnerability. The diverse range of narratives of the students involved provides a gateway to developing greater awareness of the existential complexity of the meaning of failure and its educational resources.
