Pensando al fare psicoterapia, l'Autore si ritrova nelle premesse di una psicoterapia basata sulle risorse per il suo pensare al cambiamento come opportunità per sviluppare le proprie competenze. Insieme a un gruppo di lavoro, ha studiato le applicazioni cliniche del FACES IV, in particolare della Clinical Rating Scale, e il modello del Prepare Enrich che struttura un approccio alle coppie attraverso una valutazione on-line e una guida al trattamento. A complemento di questo approccio, ha trovato stimolante il modello della Terapia Ricostruttiva Interpersonale di Lorna Smith Benjamin che utilizza strumenti di valutazione per riconoscere la presenza di sequenze interattive significative nella storia dei pazienti, fra questi e le proprie figure di riferimento e, conseguentemente, indirizzare il trattamento. Riassumendo i suoi attuali orientamenti, le valutazioni e le indicazioni sulle modalità di trattamento, l'Autore rileva un aiuto nel condurre i colloqui clinici, nel tradurre gli assunti relazionali in modo

semplice, a formulare obiettivi chiari e condivisi. Poi, come ricorda Whitaker, "tutte le teorie sono distruttive; e so che anche l'intuizione è distruttiva" e, consapevole di questo, l'Autore naviga fra l'una e l'altra, inserendo le sue intuizioni fra le "valutazioni" e le sorprese delle storie che le persone, le famiglie portano in terapia. Thinking about doing psychotherapy, the Author finds himself in the premises of a resource-based psychotherapy for its thinking of change as an opportunity to develop one's skills. Together with a working group, he studied the clinical applications of FACES IV, in particular the Clinical Rating Scale, and the Prepare Enrich model that structures an approach to couples through an online assessment and treatment guide. Complementing this approach, the Author founds Lorna Smith Benjamin's Interpersonal Reconstructive Therapy model stimulating, which uses assessment tools to recognize the presence of significant interactive sequences in patients' history between them and their reference figures and, consequently, direct treatment. Summarizing his current orientations, the evaluations and indications on treatment modalities help him to conduct clinical interviews, to translate relational assumptions in a simple way, to formulate clear and shared objectives.
