Per restare o per tornare? : studiare in Italia in tempo di crisi

  • Questo contributo, sulla base di un insieme di biografie di giovani di origine straniera residenti in Campania, riflette sul valore dell'istruzione in tempo di crisi, nel caso appunto dei "figli della migrazione". Analizzando in particolare le parti delle narrative che si sono incentrate sulle prospettive future, con particolare riferimento alle aspettative di inserimento nel mercato del lavoro, si è cercato di indagare la relazione tra il titolo di studio conseguito in Italia e il progetto migratorio. In questa chiave di lettura, ci si è chiesto se l'aver studiato nel nostro paese costituisca un buon predittore della stabilizzazione di questi giovani o se, invece, l'idea del "ritorno" continui ad avere una sua centralità nella strutturazione dei percorsi di vita, così come per le passate generazioni di migranti.
  • Rispetto a tali temi, l'analisi condotta in questo studio mette in evidenza una sostanziale insignificanza del posto in cui si vive. In una prospettiva che pare richiamare il paradigma delle migrazioni transnazionali, che fa a meno dell'idea di destinazione unica nelle vite nelle persone, i giovani di questo studio sembrano subordinare la scelta del luogo in cui vivere alle reali possibilità di realizzare una vita dignitosa. Ed è sulle opportunità concrete che questi giovani hanno di portare avanti i loro propositi che è chiamato ad interrogarsi il nostro paese. [Testo dell'editore].
  • This paper aims to reflect upon the value of education for the "migration sons" in the time of crisis. Analyzing several biographies of young people from immigrant origins living in Campania and mainly the parts of narratives where they dwell upon the future placement in the labour market, we tried to explore the relationships between qualification in Italy and the migration project of these young. In this perspective, we wondered if attending school in this country can be seen as a good predictor of the processes of stabilization of these young from foreign origins, or on the contrary, the "myth of return" is still crucial for structuring their life paths, as it was in the past. But referring to the point, our research has highlighted what can be said as a meaninglessness of the place where people live in.
