Sartre postumo : una questione morale

2017 - Franco Angeli

48-84 p.

  • The publication of Sartre's texts, which the author himself didn't bring out while he was still alive, has been taking place since 1983. Among them, most of which unfinished, a number of works dedicated to the old "moral issue" stand out, written between the end of the 1930s and the mid-1960s. This was a real fixation for the French philosopher, who often repeated that he dedicated a lot of energy to the topic without being able to achieve the results pursued since the 1940s.
  • The present article deals with the major posthumous writings explicitly dedicated to the moral issue. In particular, the aim is to show both the continuity and the internal development of these writings, and the problematic background function that they have performed in relation to the best-known works published in the period in question. The results of that path are clarified by some still unpublished material dating back to the mid-1960s. Such material reopens the "moral issue" to further interpretations and future perspectives.
