Twenty-eight leading international academics participate in this important Festschrift in honour of Antonio D'Andrea. Graduate of the prestigious Scuola Normale di Pisa just before the last war, Antonio D'Andrea moved to Canada as a young scholar and has, for many decades, been Professor of Italian language and literature at McGill University in Montreal. From that distinguished position, throughout his academic life Professor D'Andrea has been one of the most outstanding and tireless promoters of Italian studies on both sides of the Atlantic and, indeed, throughout the world. The Festschrift comprises twenty-eight essays, in English, French or Italian, on a wide range of subjects in the field of humanistic studies and Romance languages and literatures ranging over centuries from the Middle Ages to the present. It also includes an introductory text in the form of an intellectual biography of Antonio D'Andrea by the editor, Dante Della Terza, colleague and friend, who was Professor at Harvard University for more than thirty years. 95380752.ing/1 Via Benedetto da Maiano 3, 50014 Fiesole (FI), Italy - Tel.
