Project "ARCHIAS". Digital ARCHive of the Iron Age Siderospilia Necropolis.The "digital revolution" of recent years is changing our cognitive approach and working methods. In the field of archaeology in particular, it plays an important role in the collection of documentary sources of archaeological excavations and in cartographic and photographic representation. It represents and preserves the historical memory of the institutional and cultural history of the institution to which it refers. The creation of a database on the necropolis of Siderospilia is an important tool for the management of archaeological data for researchers, due to the volume of data collected during the almost ten years of excavations.

The ARCHIAS (digital ARCHive of the Iron Age Siderospilia necropolis) project was born for the creation and implementation of a digital archive for the preservation and management of all the paper, drawing and photographic material relating to the necropolis, which forms the basis of the study and publication project. On the one hand, it will facilitate the management of a large amount of data and, on the other hand, it will allow the definition of the various contextual associations, thus constituting one of the basic tools for the study oft he necropolis and the funerary practices attested in it [Publisher's Text]
