Sciacca e Stefanini : dialogo sull'idealismo cristiano
P. 366-375
This contribution explores the relationship between Michele Federico Sciacca and Luigi Stefanini and highlights the convergence of their speculative paths inthe proposal of an original rereading of idealism. Through a careful analysis oftheir correspondence and some editorial collaborations, the essay highlights their common belonging to a line of thought, an alternative to the dominant paradigm of twentieth-century Italian neo-idealism, marked by the metanthropological and transcendentist foundation of spiritualism. In particular, we focus on the points of contact and differences between Sciacca's "objective idealism" and Stefanini's "Christian idealism", both aimed at reaffirming the primacy of the idea as transcendent truth and not as a subjective construction.
The dialogue between the two thinkers proves to be a significant moment in the redefinition of the Italian philosophical tradition, in the light of a supra-historical perspective, attentive to the metaphysical, ethical and personalist dimension of the human being. The originality of the contribution also consists in linking this reflection to the contemporary debate on Italian Thought, inviting us to rediscover and valorise a historiographical tradition whose relevance and argumentative solidity have been disregarded [Publishers' Text].
