Testimoni miniati del Decretum Gratiani a Montecassino

Nell'Archivio dell'abbazia benedettina di Montecassino si conservano quattro manoscritti miniati del Decretum Gratiani (Casin. 64, 65, 66, 68). Nonostante siano già noti agli studi storico-giuridici, questi codici non sono mai stati approfonditamente studiati da un punto di vista storico-artistico. La loro decorazione mostra come essi non siano stati prodotti nello scriptorium di Montecassino, dove sono attestati solo dal XV secolo [Testo dell'editore].

Four illuminated manuscripts of the Decretum Gratiani (Casin. 64, 65, 66, 68) are conserved in the archive of the Benedictine abbey of Montecassino. Though they are well-known as historical legal documents, they have never been studied in depth from the art-historical point of view.
