Il Covid19 : tra la zona grigia e lo spazio intermedio

  • La "zona grigia" è un termine coniato da Primo Levi nella sua raccolta di saggi I sommersi e i salvati, l'ultimo libro che ha completato prima della sua morte. Nel secondo capitolo, il più lungo del libro, Levi riconosce la necessità umana di dividere il campo sociale in "noi" e "loro", due gruppi chiaramente distinti e identificabili, ma sottolinea che questa coppia opposizionale del pensiero è inadeguata di fronte alla complessità della vita nei campi. La rete di relazioni umane all'interno dei Lagers non era semplice e non poteva essere ridotta ai due estremi di vittime e persecutori. Lo "spazio intermedio" è un termine coniato dal filosofo, teologo e matematico russo, in un'epoca di culto della razionalità, per indicare che ci sono altri percorsi più alti verso la verità e che quando l'intelletto rifiuta le emozioni e i sentimenti non può riuscire a conoscere la verità.

  • The Covid19 between grey zone and intermediate space. The "grey zone" is a term coined by Primo Levi in his essay collection The Drowned and the Saved, the last book he completed before his death. In The Grey Zone, the second chapter and the longest essay in the book, Levi acknowledges the human need to divide the social field into "us" and "them", two clearly distinct and identifiable groups, but points out that such binary thinking is inadequate in the face of the complexity of life in the camps.
