Ruolo della TCC e sintesi linee guida per il trattamento psicologico del disturbo da stress post traumatico (PTSD), PTSD Complesso e PTSD Acuto

Le esperienze traumatica, sia quelle episodiche che quelle continuate nel tempo, specie durante lo sviluppo, possono generare quadri clinici specifici come il Disturbo da Stress Post-Traumatico (PTSD), il Disturbo Acuto da Stress (ASD) e il Disturbo da Stress Post-Traumatico complesso (CPTSD), ma anche costituire una dimensione psicopatologica che diffonde in tutti i quadri clinici peggiorandone la prognosi e gli esiti del trattamento. Le linee guida presentate in questa rassegna sono state sviluppate per il trattamento delle specifiche categorie diagnostiche.

In particolare per il PTSD dall'American Psychiatric Association (APA; 2017), dal National Institute for Health and Care Excellence britannico (NICE; 2018), dal Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Department of Defense (DoD) of United States of America (VA/DoD; 2017). Per quanto riguarda invece l'ASD, indicazioni per la gestione dei pazienti con tale disturbo sono riportate nelle linee guida APA del 2004. La UK Psychological Trauma Society (2017), l'International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS; 2019), e il NICE (2018) forniscono linee guida per il cPTSD. [Testo dell'editore]

Traumatic experiences, both episodic and ongoing over time, especially during development, can generate specific clinical pictures such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Acute Stress Disorder (ASD) and Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD), but also constitute a psychopathological dimension that spreads across all clinical pictures worsening their prognosis and treatment outcomes.

The guidelines presented in this review were developed for the treatment of specific diagnostic categories. Specifically for PTSD by the American Psychiatric Association (APA; 2017), the British National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE; 2018), the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Department of Defense (DoD) of the United States of America (VA/DoD; 2017). Regarding ASD, indications for the management of patients with this disorder can be found in the 2004 APA guidelines. The UK Psychological Trauma Society (2017), the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS; 2019), and NICE (2018) provide guidelines for cPTSD. [Publisher's text]
