We offer some observations on the arcaic history of the lepontic alphabet that provides interesting insight on the topic of linguistic contacts, in particular starting from the moment when, in the seventh century BC, the Celts of Italy met etruscan cultural patterns. Among the consequences of this event there is the creation of the lepontic alphabet (circa 600 BC). [Publisher's text]
