De Ruggiero e Antoni : tra la rinascita del Sollen e la riabilitazione dell'individuo

- This article deals with the reconstruction of two philosophical alternative evaluations on Benedetto Croce's absolute historicism. The former - developed by Guido De Ruggiero - opposed Croce's theory, promoting a perspective that aims to distinguish 'history' from 'metahistory' (or spirit), 'fact' from 'values'. The purpose was to theorize a measured 'dualism', that could respond to the philosophy developed by Croce and consolidate the importance of 'having to be'. The latter - elaborated by Carlo Antoni - revalued Kantian developments, in which it is possible to arrange an 'universalist' individual dimension to the detriment of Croce's philosophy, generally accepted, but whose theoretical consequences aims to dismiss, precisely, the transcendental individual nature.
