Interventisti con prudenza : la pubblicistica militare dall'inquieto dopoguerra libico al maggio del 1915
149-171 p.
- This essay analyses the attitude of the Italian Army at the outbreak of World War I. In order to do this, it draws in particular from the military press. The authoritarian Cadorna-style has led us to consider all the armed forces in favour of the intervention, but from the analysis of these materials, a diverse reality and a more detailed picture emerge. The ways in which the military organization presented itself to the world shows how, before the war, Italian society underwent a process of rapid militarization, accompanied by a progressive civilization of the army.
