Il rapporto tra Luigi Einaudi e Alcide De Gasperi e il processo di integrazione europea

Starting with the meeting between De Gasperi and Einaudi in 1944, the article traces some moments in the partnership between the two statesmen who, despite coming from different cultures, had developed a deep convergence on the strategic choices of the new Italy. This partnership was cemented in particular by the first founding acts in the process of European integration (from the Ecsc to the proposal for a European army). The author highlights how the recommendations of President Einaudi, contained in notes published po-sthumously in the volume Lo scrittoio del presidente, had a direct influence on the choices and orientations of the Italian government.
