Il futuro del mondo bipolare nell'immaginario giovanile di sinistra : Usa e Urss nei versi della canzone d'autore

  • Attraverso i versi dei cantautori, l'articolo cerca di cogliere la visione che i giovani orientati politicamente verso sinistra avevano delle due superpotenze: valori, disvalori, contraddizioni, prospettive per il futuro. In particolare, si noterà come, nella narrazione e nella rappresentazione del mondo bipolare, la canzone d'autore imboccasse tre diverse strade: da un lato essa si fece interprete - in una critica congiunta alle due superpotenze - delle paure legate alla corsa agli armamenti ed alla sfida nucleare.
  • Un altro filone, invece, si concentrò - in chiave antistatunitense - sulla critica delle contraddizioni della società capitalista. Un ultimo, infine, vide i cantautori prendere di mira le antinomie del sistema sovietico; questo filone, minoritario nel corso degli anni Settanta, conoscerà un forte slancio negli anni Ottanta in corrispondenza con la crisi del comunismo internazionale. Sul finire del decennio la canzone d'autore si interrogherà sulla fine del blocco sovietico e sul futuro della politica mondiale. [Testo dell'editore].
  • By analyzing the lyrics of the singer-songwriters, the essay will seek to define how left-leaning youth envisioned the two superpowers in terms of positive and negative values, inherent contradictions and vision of the future. It will become clear that the narration and depiction of the bipolar world in singer-songwriter lyrics took three different routes: firstly, criticism of both the superpowers, by expressing the anxieties unleashed by the arms race and the nuclear build-up; secondly, an anti-US stance, based on a critique of the contradictions of capitalist society. The third and final element sees the singer-songwriters take aim at the incon-gruities of the Soviet system. Although less pronounced in the 70s, the theme grew rapidly in the 80s, concomitant with the decline of Communist internationalism. At the end of the decade, the lyrics mulled over the demise of the Soviet block and considered the future chances of the new world politics. [Publisher's text].
