...conSenso publishing is an independent publishing house based in Corigliano-Rossano, Calabria, founded and directed by Giuseppe Francesco Zangaro, who is its CEO and founder. It operates as the publishing arm of the conSenso brand and combines publishing with a comprehensive offering of editorial and printing services, placing the aspirations and needs of authors at the center, followed by design and promotion of the work.
The origins: a family tradition
The distinctive feature of the publishing house is its typographical legacy. The present and future of conSenso are rooted in the Grafosud Historical Enterprise, founded by Cav. Luigi Zangaro. Their business memory dates back to the 1980s, when two brothers and their father turned cranks, moved pedals, cut and interspersed sheets of paper to pull books, newspapers, and posters under the Grafosud brand.
It's a story that begins even earlier: a passion born at the age of ten or eleven, at the time when books were born with the typometer and linotype, and the typographer was at the same time a creative and a skilled mathematician, capable of calculating the size of texts with intuition and experience. From this artisanal legacy, the publishing house has developed a method: today it prints in offset and digital print, designs with the most modern computer systems, and publishes on paper and on-demand.
Identity and mission
The work philosophy is declared right from the institutional page: working is not just production, but discovery, dedication, sharing, such as making wealth that goes beyond money. In terms of content, conSenso aims to preserve the cultural memory of the area: it recovers classics of Italian culture to avoid dispersing the vast local literary heritage and enhances Italy's archaeological heritage.
