Diritti umani e identità sessuali Riconoscimento, conflitti e limiti del dibattito contemporaneo
112-119 p.
This paper examines the relationship between human rights and sexual identity from a political and normative perspective. Sexual identity is a central issue in contemporary human rights debates. The UN' s Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948) and international jurisprudence, including the European Court of Human Rights'Christine Goodwin v. United Kingdom decision, recognize sexual orientation and gender identity. Amnesty International reports widespread discrimination and criminalization of LGBTQIA+ individuals in many countries. While recognizing sexual identity expands individual freedom, it raises political questions about liberty, equality, identity rights, and social rights. A critical perspective on identitybased discourse emphasizes integrating recognition with broader social justice and universal rights commitments. [Publisher's text]
