The theme of the journey in Propertius is investigated in the various possible meanings, from the physical one of movement, to the internal one of the love affair, to the literary one, between emulation and imitation. On the one hand, the poet does not like to travel, because he wants to stay in Rome, and with the woman he loves. On the other, he likes to move in the dimensions of literature, myth and even the afterlife, in an incessant inner journey between images and places in limitless mental spaces. [Publisher's text]
