Cosa succede quando sembra non succedere nulla? I momenti di attesa sembrano essere solo tempi 'morti' tra due situazioni definite. Non solo, appaiono così 'vuoti' da voler essere evitati ad ogni costo. Proprio a causa di questo carattere apparentemente 'inutile', un'antropologia della vita quotidiana può riuscire nell'impresa di illuminare numerosi aspetti della nostra cultura a partire dal tema dell'attesa. In questo articolo, grazie anche a esempi tratti da una ricerca empirica, si cercherà di riflettere sul rapporto che intercorre tra essere umano e tempo e sul modo in cui impariamo a gestire le relazioni con gli estranei nei luoghi dell'attesa [Testo dell'editore].

What happens when nothing seems to happen? Moments of waiting seem to be just 'dead' time between two defined situations. They seem so 'empty' that we want to avoid them at all costs. Because of this seemingly 'useless' character, an anthropology of everyday life can succeed in shedding light on numerous aspects of our culture, studying moments of waiting.
