  • Nella seconda metà del Settecento le feste teatrali furono il genere cui a Torino si fece più spesso ricorso per solennizzare le visite di principi e sovrani stranieri e per celebrare in musica i legami dinastici che la monarchia sabauda strinse con le principali corti europee. Luogo di co-struzione e rappresentazione della regalità, questo tipo di spettacolo costituisce un terreno fecondo per chi intenda studiare la politica curiale e le sue pratiche rituali; dal punto di vista culturale, teatrale e musicale, poi, offre non pochi spunti d'indagine. Particolarmente meritevole di attenzione è, in questo senso, uno degli spettacoli celebrativi più interessanti e singolari andati in scena nella capitale sabauda ossia La vittoria d'Imeneo di Baldassare Galuppi su libretto di Giuseppe Bartoli, allestito al Teatro Regio per le nozze di Vittorio Amedeo di Savoia con Maria Antonia Ferdinanda di Spagna, nel 1750.   • In the second half of the 18th century the festa teatrale was the genre most often used in Turin to solemnize the visits of foreign princes and sovereigns as well as celebrate the dynastic ties that the Savoy monarchy forged with the main European courts through music. A representation of sovereignty and an instrument of consensus par excellence, this type of opera is a fertile ground for those who intend to study cu-rial politics and its ritual practices; from a cultural, theatrical and musical point of view, it also offers many ideas for investigation. Particularly worthy of attention in this respect is La Vittoria d'Imeneo, composed by Baldassare Galuppi (libretto by Giuseppe Bartoli) on the occasion of the wedding of Victor Amadeus of Savoy to Maria Antonia Ferdi-nanda of Spain (1750), one of the most interesting and unusual feste teatrali staged in the Savoy capital.
