The stone monuments from North Apulia called "Daunian stelae" have been analysed for the first time through an experimental archaeology study. The new data suggest a chronological reversal and a time dilation of their production. The identification of a complex drawing system in the Geometric age, the recognition of the different Masters' authors of the stelae, and the reading of archaeological and literary sources will allow us to develop a new hypothesis about the Greek presence in Daunia as highlighted by the myth of Diomedes, to whom, the production of these monuments is attributed by ancient sources.
