Dal contagio alla separazione : note sull'angoscia da un gruppo di psicoterapia istituzionale

  • La prima seduta di un gruppo terapeutico porta con sé una grande quantità di angoscia, che poggia le proprie basi sul timore del non conosciuto e del contagio, della diffusione del sé all'interno di un ambiente ignoto ma sentito come pericoloso. D'altrocanto, la prima lunga pausa del lavoro di gruppo, quella delle ferie estive, porta con sé 'angoscia della separazione, che si manifesta nelle ultime sedute e nelle prime al ritorno dall'estate come minaccia al contenitore gruppale. La pausa estiva mette infatti alla prova la relazione tra contenitore e contenuto, esplicitandone le criticità ma anche definendone la struttura e le possibilità trasformative.
  • Questo lavoro, che discute di un gruppo tenuto per più di due anni in un Centro di Salute Mentale e formato da otto membri, per lo più donne, pazienti psichiatrici alla loro prima esperienza di psicoterapia, riporta alcune note sulla prima seduta di gruppo e su quella del ritorno dalla prima pausa estiva, provando così a mettere a confronto queste due fondamentali angosce gruppali. Il gruppo, tenuto alcuni anni addietro, è infatti in un primo momento messo alla prova dal terrore dell'ingresso concreto della “follia” al proprio interno e quindi, nel tentativo di curare tanto la solitudine esistenziale quanto l'angoscia dell'abbandono, da importanti dinamiche amicali tra i membri [Testo dell'editore]
  • The first session of a therapeutic group brings with it a great deal of anguish, whichrests its foundation on the fear of unknown and contagion, of the diffusion of the selfwithin an environment that is felt as unknown but as dangerous. On the other hand, thefirst long pause of group work, that of the summer holidays, brings with it the anguish ofseparation, which manifests itself in the last sessions and in the first ones upon returningfrom the summer as a threat to the group container. In fact, the summer break tests therelationship between container and contained, explaining the critical issues but also defining its structure and transformative possibilities.
  • This work, which discusses a groupheld for more than two years in a Mental Health Service and made up of eight members,mostly women, psychiatric patients in their first psychotherapy experience, containssome notes on the first group session and on that of the return from the first summerbreak, thus trying to compare these two fundamental group anguishes. The group, heldsome years ago, is in fact at first put to the test by the terror of the concrete entry of“madness” within itself and then, in an attempt to cure both existential loneliness and theanguish of abandonment, by friendly dynamics among members.
