Attingendo alla massa crescente di informazioni e dati generati dall'inizio della pandemia di COVID19 e rimandando agli articoli che compongono questo numero monografico, l'articolo traccia una mappa di ricerca empirica e teorica per il futuro.   • The relation between migration and pandemics can be understood as the complex interaction between two "total social facts", one of a continuous and structural nature, the other unexpected and traumatic. The linkages between the two phenomena are biunivocal and change over time. Drawing upon the quickly expanding empirical base generated since the outbreak of COVID19, the author provides an interdisciplinary overview of these interactions and highlights some theoretical implications. The articles included in this special issue are presented and a roadmap for future research is sketched. [Publisher's text].
