  • The translation of the Lexikon der antiken christlichen Literatur edited by S. Döpp and W. Geerlings, which in Germany reached its 3rd edition (Herder, 2002) within a short time, has now been published in Italy. The work is connected to the renowned Patrology of B. Altaner, a hand-book more than once reviewed and updated on which generations of theologians and scholars of ancient Christian literature were formed. This Italian translation corresponds to the 3rd German edition, which is remarkably wider in scope in comparison to the two previous ones. The bibliography has been updated to give the most recent published references, with a special focus on seminal studies and works published in Italy. The volume offers a historically reliable overview of the life and the works of the Christian authors up to the late 7th century.
